The Heart of Europe is an ambitious hospitality and lifestyle destination set across six man-made islands off the coast of Dubai, envisioned as a celebration of European culture, architecture, and environmental innovation. Serendipity by Design was appointed to develop the original master plan, shaping a bold vision that would blend immersive tourism with sustainable placemaking on a world-class scale.
Our role focused on crafting a coherent narrative across diverse island typologies—including the German Villas, Sweden Beach Palaces, and Floating Seahorse homes—while ensuring each component remained contextually unique yet experientially cohesive. Inspired by the romantic urbanism of Venice, the festive vibrancy of Ibiza, and the classical elegance of French Riviera towns, the plan was layered with thematic environments, pedestrian-friendly districts, and hospitality zones positioned to maximize both guest immersion and operational flow.
At the heart of the master plan was a commitment to ecological sensitivity, integrating renewable systems, coral restoration, and water-based transit routes that aligned with Dubai’s sustainability vision. Public spaces, marina plazas, and luxury retail boulevards were interwoven with resort environments, enabling fluid movement between leisure, culture, and nature.
Serendipity’s master planning approach combined storytelling with strategic urban logic, ensuring that every corner of the development delivered on both aspirational value and commercial viability. The resulting blueprint set the tone for what has become one of the most unique tourism developments in the region—a destination where design, nature, and imagination converge.
